NUCFDCs Poised for “Greater Achievements” Under Renewed Leadership, Says Head of Secretariat

Monrovia, Liberia _ March 9, 2025 – Following their reappointment, the Head of Secretariat/National & National Program Coordinator of the National Union of Community Forestry Development Committees (NUCFDCs), Mr. Andrew Y. Y. Zelemen has announced a renewed vision for the organization, emphasizing collaboration, capacity building, and a commitment to sustainable development.

I truly believe this is a space where we can all accomplish remarkable things. I feel a renewed spirit, a sense that our Union is ready for greatness.”

The organization plans to work closely with its partners to bring together the National Leadership and key strategic thinkers to brainstorm and reshape the NUCFDCs’ direction, with a focus on sustainable forest practices, community land rights and improving livelihoods.

“To achieve our goals, we must invest in capacity building at all levels, expand our network, and actively participate in sustainable development initiatives,” the statement continued.

Mr. Zelemen expressed confidence in the upcoming strategic review meeting, stating, “Yes, we can! I’m confident that our strategic review meeting will be a resounding success. This is our space, and we must use it to make a difference in the lives of others and improve conditions for the benefit of all humankind. We are ready, and with your dedication and support, I know we will accomplish extraordinary things together.”

The NUCFDCs is committed to fostering sustainable development and improving the lives of communities through responsible forestry practices, sustainable land use, and environmentally friendly agricultural investment.
