Andrew Y. Y. Zelemen Reappointed as Head of Secretariat for National Union of Community Forestry Development Committees _ NUCFDCs

Monrovia, Liberia —March 7, 2025 –  In a significant move for the National Union of Community Forestry Development Committees (NUCFDCs), Andrew Y. Y.  Zelemen has been officially reappointed as the Head of Secretariat, National Facilitator, and National Program Director. The announcement, made by the organization’s first female president, Madam Annie Jerrue, highlights Zelemen’s invaluable contributions and steadfast commitment to the NUCFDCs since its establishment.

This reappointment, effective March 7, 2025, comes after extensive consultations among the national leadership, recognizing Zelemen’s pivotal role in crafting the NUCFDCs strategic plan and establishing the Secretariat as the administrative hub of the organization. Since 2016, his visionary leadership has been crucial in advancing the NUCFDCs’ mission to support forest communities across Liberia.

In his expanded role, Zelemen will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat, managing projects that align with the NUCFDCs’ evolving objectives. His collaboration with national leadership will be essential as the organization seeks to diversify its activities and enhance its services to the communities it represents.
